David Evershed

David Evershed - Liberal Democrat Candidate for Buckingham West - County Council Elections May 4th 2017

David has lived with his wife in Marsh Gibbon for over 35 years. Both his children attended the Royal Latin School in Buckingham. He is Treasurer of his local church, former PTA Chair and is a regular tennis player.

Starting his career as an engineer, David then worked for a large management consultancy after university. Subsequently he worked for eight years at one of the country's biggest exporters as Head of Computer Systems and then for seventeen years at one of the big four high street banks as Director of Planning before retiring.

Over the past eight years he has helped lead the campaign to increase the waste recycling rate in the County and improve the incineration proposals for the treatment of the residual waste. He continues to scrutinise the recorded emissions from the Greatmoor incinerator in North Bucks and its financial performance, since it was built with £185m of Buckingham County Council taxpayers' money.

If elected, David intends to apply a fierce scrutiny of the County Council's biggest responsibility which is Social Care and the implementation of any merger between the District Councils and the County Council.
