Bletchley Landfill - Public Meeting - Tuesday 4th May 5 to 7 pm

The Newton Longville Parish Council webpage about the appeal and public meeting is now live on their website, www.newton-longville.com. The page includes the most recent map (as below but in PDF, so easier to navigate) and aerial picture they have had from FCC. The public meeting is on Tuesday 4th May from 5 to 7 pm - whilst not designed as a drop-in, there is no fundamental reason someone could not join at any time. Newton Longville Parish Council will be having a formal parish council meeting at 7 pm (or whenever the public meeting finishes if later) to make a decision on what stance NLPC is going to take on the appeals. If you are a member or supporter in the local area and you are affected by this development, we would suggest you attend the Public Meeting.

The planning application was refused by Milton Keynes Council. An appeal has been lodged and ten day public inquiry is due to start on 6th July. Any representations (comments) to Planning Inspector MUST be made by 6th May. This date is fixed and cannot be changed. Representations may be submitted online to the Planning Inspectorate. There is also an appeal against the refusal of a separate application for the "Construction and operation of a surface water attenuation lagoon", both will be considered at the same Public Inquiry.

The application to MKC is: 20/00678/FULMMA
For: Variation of conditions 2 (operational life), 3 (restoration sequence) and 5 (final restoration of the site) attached to planning application MK/806/95 to extend the operational life of the site by 15 years with final restoration of the whole site to be completed within a further 24 months.

A similar planning application was also made to Buckinghamshire Council: CM/0018/20 The application to Bucks was refused based on technical issues raised by the parish council about the legal basis of the application. FCC have said they do not intend appealing against the refusal by Buckinghamshire Council as all the cells in Bucks are already filled.

The other refused application to MKC is: 20/00849/FUL
For: Construction and operation of a surface water attenuation lagoon
