Milton Keynes Council to build 1000s of new houses in our area?

Milton Keynes Council have launched a consultation into proposals which could see thousands of houses built in our area. The development would be part of what they are calling 'MK Futures 2050'. You can find the full report here

MK Council are holding consultation meetings in Newton Longville and Winslow but have done little to promote them so we are doing their job for them! Details as follows:

Milton Keynes western expansion plans - public meetings

Tuesday 25th February 6.30pm. Longueville Hall, Whaddon Rd, Newton Longville MK17 0AT

Tuesday 3rd March 7.00pm. St Laurence Room Market Square, Winslow MK18 3AB

Winslow councillor Llew Monger says 'This amounts to an attempted land-grab by MK Council which there is no justification for.

'Local Lib Dem campaigner Andrew Jones adds 'Our area is already having extra housing forced on us by Conservative controlled AVDC and MK Council have vast areas of undeveloped land to the east of the M1'.

The report refers to Milton Keynes Metropolitan Area stretching from Buckingham in the west to Bedford in the east and Northampton in the north to Leighton Buzzard in the south. Newton Longville and Whaddon would be swallowed up within MK. Mursley, Drayton Parslow and Swanbourne would be trapped between a greatly expanded Winslow and the encroaching City of Milton Keynes.
