County Council Elections May 4th 2017

Please support our Candidates to enable us to deliver our Manifesto for young people, later life, families, transport, economy, health, the environment, community and local growth

Young People

£800 tax cut for 24m workers (Stirling and Clacks Scottish Liberal Democrats)

We will restore the Connexions Service with a 'youth club plus' focus to develop training, provide health and well-being advice. We will double the number of apprentices in Bucks and introduce 'Freedom to Travel' bus passes for teenagers.


Later Life

We will cut Council Tax for the most vulnerable senior citizens and introduce a 'no decision about me without me' policy so that you are in control of your care. We will launch a First Response 'Falls Service' so that people can live safely in their own homes.


Familes

We will introduce a comprehensive Family Liaison service providing support and advice so that every family can achieve their potential. We will double the number of foster parents and re-profile the 'children in care' service increasing investment in social workers across the County.


Transport

Stagecoach bus

We will deliver a freight strategy to protect villages from haulage traffic. We will continue to support communities affected by HS2 and support bus services linking with the East West Rail to maximise sustainable travel opportunities.


Economy

We will invest in our roads with a ten year 'no pot hole' plan so that we have the road network to do business right across the county. We will deliver a comprehensive Broadband Service so that no community is left behind with slow speed.


Health

NHS Doctor

We will put mental health and wellbeing at the core of County services fully funding the CAMHS service. We will invest and strengthen community services such as libraries, trading standards, GP surgeries and sports facilities for a healthy lifestyle for all.


Environment

We will protect and enhance our valued countryside and wildlife, creating a Country Park in north Bucks. We will invest in Green transport technology and develop a county-wide safer cycle network.

We will transform our libraries into real community hubs and continue to support the community library model. We will support local businesses, farmers and producers to access local markets and reduce their carbon footprints.


Local Growth

Solar Panels

We will promote micro power generation on all new housing projects. We will work with Government, housing providers and developers to deliver the infrastructure needed for safer and stronger communities with the roads, schools and services we all need.
