New Facebook group to change Mr Speaker - from the next electionn unfortunately, not this - being uncontested by Lib,Lab,.Con, depriving electors of choice - this is the link to the Facebook page - http://tinyurl.com/33h3dfa

It describes itself thus -

"This group is a campaign for change in the current rules whereby the Speaker of the House is automatically put forward for re-election in his constituency, uncontested (currently this is Buckingham, with John Bercow). By tradition the three main poliitical parties do not field candidates in Mr Speakers constituency. This means that electors in Mr Speaker's constituency are deprived of the opportunity of properly expressing their political point of view."
